Barn Observatory, 2012
24' x 8.5' x 8.5'. Rough-cut pine lumber, fabricated steel, hay and mud, ac motors, denatured alcohol, plexiglass, and light.
Barn Observatory is an interactive work that contrasts two spaces. The interior looks and smells of a barn stall. The outside of the work represents a watch tower or observatory. Upon entering and inspecting the stall a motion sensor triggers a steel box above the viewer. A liquid vibrates above and projects light onto the audience.
