Shack

Shack, 2012

8.5' x 5' x 5'.  Rough cut lumber, fabricated and smithed steel, earth, light, and sound.

Shack is an interactive work that deals with isolation. The viewer is invited to enter the shack, taking them out of the gallery as they sit inside the wood structure with a dirt floor. As one sits inside they suddenly hear the chaotic noise of the gallery or outside world - looped and layered - transferred from a hanging microphone on the opposite side of the space.
